Do You Know Your Ideal Client?
The first question is, why is it important to know who your ideal client is? When I first started my business, I worked with anyone that would pay me. As sad as that seems, that’s very common for entrepreneurs when starting their business.
In the end, I’ve learned that by not niching down, you’re actually hurting your business. By getting clear on who your ideal client is, it’s easier for you to know their pain points and create content that’s targeted to them.
If you don’t know who your ideal client is, you won’t know who you’re creating content for!
Here are 5 easy steps to identify your ideal client:
Look at who you currently work with. Do they have similar qualities? Do they have qualities that you can’t deal with? Why do you love working with them?
What are their current habits? This includes knowing what type of books they read, the Facebook groups they’re in and what social media platform do they like using the most? By knowing these details, it’ll be easier for you to know where you should be looking for your ideal clients.
Understand their fears. What type of challenges do they face in their business? By understanding the obstacles in their business, the better you’ll be able to show them how your services can solve their problems.
Who would you like to work with everyday? It’s important to be excited with who you’re working with otherwise you may end up unhappy in your business. Is there one demographic or business that you enjoy working with?
What does your ideal client need? Make a list of the reasons why people need your services. What type of transformation do you provide your clients? People want to know the results they get from working with you and they don’t care how they get there.
