If you’re new to social media or have been in business for a few years, we all get stuck creating content from time to time for our business. If you don’t know what to post, don’t let that hold you back from showing up for your audience. There are several places you can find content ideas to help you.

  1. Look at your Instagram Insights. You can access your insights by going to the menu > select “Insights” > and you can view all of your posts. There are drop down menus on the top that will allow you to sort by type of post, metrics (reach, saves, shares, etc…) and by time frame. Look at your posts that have the top comments, saves and shares. These are the posts that resonate the most with your audience. You can repurpose this content and approach it from a different angle. You don’t have to create new content all the time. Repurposing is key to save time!

  2. Set aside time to create a long list of potential topics. Use this time to research new topic ideas and what you can write about. It’s much easier to brainstorm when you focus on one task and come up with ideas first.

Then, when you're ready to create content, you already have a long list of topics to write about.

  3. Answer common questions that people are asking you OR what type of questions are people answering that are in your niche? This will help give you ideas on the topics you can write about.

Is there something that you recently learned? Share it with your audience through a mini-training or tutorial. This will help position you as an expert.

  4. Search public forums. There are public sites such as www.quora.com, www.reddit.com and www.answerthepublic.com that you can enter a topic and find questions that other people are asking about that topic. This will help you get some ideas on what type of content you can create to answer these questions.
