If you’ve been thinking of starting a podcast, but are afraid that it’s too complicated, then you think wrong! You may be able to start a podcast with the tools that you have right now. The best part is, starting a podcast is not a huge investment and there is a platform that can host your podcast for FREE!

Here are some tools you need to start your podcast along with my recommendations.

Microphone - You don’t need an expensive microphone to start a podcast, but I definitely recommend one. It makes your voice a lot clearer and it eliminates the echo of your voice. If you want to start a podcast, start off with the right equipment.

This is the one I bought from Amazon and I love it: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01D4HTIOY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Use a free editing software like Audacity to record your podcast. Audacity makes it easy to record, edit and you can even create your intros and outro audios using Audacity.

Choose a platform to host your podcast. Some alternatives are libsyn, simplecast and Anchor which is completely free. Choose one that fits your needs and what you’re trying to accomplish with your podcast.

Use the Headliner App to promote your podcast. Ever wonder how to add the audio “wave” on your social media posts? Headliner is a great free option to help you do just that. It adds the audio “wave” on your graphics so your audience will know that you’re promoting a podcast.

Before you even begin a podcast, decide on what you want your podcast to be about and a podcast name. Also, don’t give up if your audience doesn’t grow overnight. Remember, this will take time. So be consistent and continue to promote your podcast and over time you’ll see your audience grow!
