How to Show up With Confidence on Video using Instagram
Showing up on video can be scary! It took me 6 months before I showed up on video after I started my business. BUT if you want to grow your audience and attract your dream clients, video content is where it’s at!
With the growing video platforms such as TikTok, video content has been a key focus on Instagram. I’ve noticed that whenever I post a Reel, I get more followers and more engagement. I also love that Reels is a short and quick way to get your point across. (There are ways to post videos on Reels without the dancing and pointing!)
Here are 3 tips to gain more confidence on video:
1) Practice first. If you hate seeing or hearing yourself on camera, that I would start with practicing first. Record yourself on video 3 – 5 times until you feel more relaxed. You don’t have to post these practice videos at all. This is just a way for you to get comfortable in front of the camera.
2) Create notes. Write down what you want to say in the video? You don’t have to write everything word for word, instead make a short list of the points you want to get across. You want to sound natural and not make it seem like you’re reading a script. This will also help you from freezing up in front of the camera!
3) Get over being perfect! It’s true that we are the biggest critic of ourselves. So even though you stumble over your words, or you feel like your hair is a mess, the only person that’s criticizing you is yourself. You need to take messy action and just do it!
