5 Ways to Find Your Next Client
The #1 question I get is where to find clients. Of course, clients are important in our business since without them, we wouldn’t have a business at all! So here are 5 places you can look to find your next client.
Look into your network
Did you know that you already have access to the best referrals? When was the last time you asked your friends or family if they knew anyone needing assistance in their business? You never know who your friends and family know. They're the best people to refer you since they know you the best!
Facebook Groups
Facebook groups are a great place to find your next client. There are several Facebook Groups I’m part of that have job postings on a daily basis. Here are a few tips to find the right Facebook Group for you:
Find groups that are highly engaged. By offering your expertise in these groups, you will stand out from the crowd and may get noticed by your ideal client.
Join groups where your ideal client may be part of. Not only will you be able to network in these groups, but you can better understand our client - what they need in their business and their pain points.
LinkedIn is a touchy subject for me. I've tried to find clients, but all I got was scams, but I know other people who have been successful with it so I didn't want to rule this option out. Try reaching out to small businesses you would love to work with and start that way. Send them your portfolio if you have one and show them how you can improve their business. I think the key here is to show how you can bring value to their business.
Instagram is the #1 way that I have been able to find clients. During my first year in business, about 90% of my business was from clients that found me on Instagram. With Instagram though, you have to be very patient since it takes time to build your know, like and trust factor.
Delivering value and being relatable is the key to attracting your dream clients that will invest in your services. If you need help using Instagram for your business, I'm always happy to help!
Networking Events
If you're an introvert like me, it can be a challenge to go out there and start conversations with people you don't know. But if you love talking to people in person then this could be the best place for you to find clients!
Meetup.com is a great resource if you need help finding networking events in your area. Always bring business cards with you and be prepared to explain your services. You may find more success in talking to people in person vs. talking on the phone or video call. Your goal at networking events is not to pitch to every person you talk to, but get to know them. Once you know about their business, it’ll be easier for you to pick your services where you know you can truly help.
