4 Tips When Hiring a Virtual Assistant for your Business
When your business is growing and you’re ready to scale, it can be the best feeling in the world! You may also be ready to make your first hire and start delegating tasks to a Virtual Assistant! Hiring a VA can be the best decision for your business to help you focus on tasks you love doing and delegate tasks that are outside your zone of genius.
With my experience as a Virtual Assistant, here are 4 things I have learned when working with my clients and some tips to help you make the right decision when choosing a Virtual Assistant.
1. Before looking for a Virtual Assistant, make a list of tasks you do in your business and circle the tasks that you do not love doing. This will help you find a VA that loves doing the tasks that you no longer want to do.
2. Communication is key! Make sure that you understand your VA’s working schedule and the best way to delegate tasks. I recommend using a project management tool like Trello or Asana so you can both keep track of projects and make any notes needed. I also recommend creating a video tutorial using Loom so your VA knows the exact steps you want a task done.
3. Have a weekly or bi-weekly touch base. Your VA is on your team and should be viewed as someone who’s on your side as you build your business. Having a regular call with your VA will help your VA keep track of any upcoming projects or your VA can help you figure out ways to make a process easier!
4. Finally, when deciding who you are going to hire as a VA, make sure they are aligned with your business, they are great communicators, and they can execute and complete projects on time.
